Technical Duties
They execute acceptance testing, routine QA, parts replacement and software updates and coordinate with vendors for complex repairs and recalls.
Safety and Compliance
BMETs document maintenance activities, support radiation and MRI safety programs and help validate equipment performance for accreditation and regulatory inspections.
Training and Certification
BMETs typically hold technical degrees or certifications in biomedical engineering technology and receive modality specific vendor training and continuing education.
