Overview
ENT surgeons manage disorders of hearing balance sinonasal disease voice airway and head and neck tumors using medical and surgical approaches. The specialty spans outpatient procedures to complex oncologic and reconstructive surgery. Multidisciplinary coordination with audiology speech therapy and oncology is common.
Clinical Practice
Care includes evaluation of hearing loss, chronic sinusitis, voice disorders and obstructive sleep apnea and planning for surgical or medical management. Pediatric ENT addresses congenital and developmental airway and ear problems. Perioperative airway management and rehabilitation are essential components.
Procedures and Tools
Procedures include tympanoplasty tonsillectomy endoscopic sinus surgery laryngoscopy and head and neck oncologic resections with reconstruction. Tools include endoscopes operative microscopes and intraoperative navigation systems. Audiology and vestibular testing support diagnostic pathways.
Training and Roles
