Neutron imaging penetrated the bronze casing and revealed internal wooden elements that had survived due to the sealed environment. These components were not visible externally and provided evidence that the figurine was originally constructed as a composite object.

The presence of internal wood suggested that the figurine may have been part of a ritual object or cultic installation. The internal structure supported interpretations of symbolic or ceremonial use.
Preservation Impact
Neutron imaging allowed researchers to study the figurine without removing corrosion layers or opening the metal casing, preserving both the bronze and the internal wood.
