CBCT provides high resolution three dimensional imaging with compact systems used in dental ENT and interventional suites for localized volumetric imaging.
Technique
Cone beam geometry and flat panel detectors yield isotropic voxels. Field of view and exposure settings are tailored to the region.
Clinical Uses
Dental implant planning maxillofacial imaging and intraoperative imaging in hybrid operating rooms.
Limitations and Safety
Lower soft tissue contrast than conventional CT. Scatter and artifacts require careful technique.
