Overview
Gadoxetate disodium is a gadolinium based MRI agent with partial hepatocyte uptake enabling combined dynamic and hepatobiliary phase imaging.
Properties
Lower gadolinium dose per vial, dual extracellular and hepatocyte specific behavior with biliary excretion in part.
Uses
Used for liver MRI to detect and characterize focal liver lesions and to assess biliary excretion.
Safety
Monitor renal function; transient nausea and injection site reactions possible; interpret hepatobiliary phase timing carefully.
