Overview

Gadoxetate disodium is a gadolinium based MRI agent with partial hepatocyte uptake enabling combined dynamic and hepatobiliary phase imaging.

Properties

Lower gadolinium dose per vial, dual extracellular and hepatocyte specific behavior with biliary excretion in part.

Uses

Used for liver MRI to detect and characterize focal liver lesions and to assess biliary excretion.

Safety

Monitor renal function; transient nausea and injection site reactions possible; interpret hepatobiliary phase timing carefully.
