Overview
CT technologists perform protocol selection, patient positioning and contrast administration to produce diagnostic CT images while minimizing radiation exposure.
Operational Duties
They optimize acquisition parameters for clinical indications, manage contrast safety screening and troubleshoot scanner performance and artifacts.
Radiation Safety and QA
Technologists implement dose reduction strategies, document exposure metrics and participate in routine QA and phantom testing to ensure consistent image quality.
Training and Certification
CT technologists are radiologic technologists with CT certification and ongoing training in advanced protocols, contrast administration and dose management.
