Gadoteridol is a macrocyclic gadolinium chelate used for contrast enhanced MRI with strong kinetic stability.
Properties
Macrocyclic structure reduces likelihood of gadolinium release, moderate relaxivity and extracellular distribution for general MRI use.
Uses
Indicated for CNS and body MRI to enhance lesion detection and characterization.
Safety
Lower risk of NSF compared with linear agents; still screen renal function and use lowest effective dose.
