Prioritize life saving care while minimizing additional exposures and use time distance and shielding principles during rescue and triage. Implement contamination control zones and perform rapid surveys to identify affected individuals and areas. Provide initial decontamination and medical evaluation and document exposures and interventions.
Medical Management and Follow Up
Assess internal and external contamination and use decorporation agents or supportive care as indicated and consult radiation medicine specialists. Monitor exposed individuals with dosimetry and clinical follow up and provide psychological support and clear communication. Conduct incident review and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Recovery and Communication
Coordinate environmental remediation and clearance surveys before reoccupying affected areas and document all remediation activities.
