Speech Language Pathologist

Overview

Speech language pathologists assess and treat speech, language, voice and swallowing disorders across the lifespan using evidence based interventions.

Clinical Services

SLPs perform bedside and instrumental swallowing evaluations, design therapy plans for dysphagia and provide augmentative communication strategies for complex needs.

Interdisciplinary Role

They collaborate with physicians, dietitians and therapists to support safe nutrition, communication and cognitive rehabilitation and contribute to discharge planning.

Training and Certification

SLPs complete graduate training, obtain certification and licensure and maintain competency in instrumental assessments such as VFSS and FEES.
